Here at Hope Woods we have fallen in love with the Australian Labradoodle.
This new breed of canine serves us well, with consistent intuitive temperament, energetic spirit and willingness to work. It has allowed us the ability to breed allergy friendly pets, superb companion animals and canines suited for therapy work. The Australian Labradoodle is a very smart dog. It needs to be engaged physically, mentally and spiritually to be happy. These wonderful dogs love people, tending not to bond to one person but are simply a pleasure with many different people.
Before you consider an Australian Labradoodle puppy you need to ask if you and your family have the time and energy to bond with and train the puppy. A well trained balanced puppy is the result of responsible breeding along with proper socialization, training, good diet, plus a safe environment. The puppy needs consistent discipline, although harsh discipline is not necessary, consistency is required. This effort will be required for at least 1 1/2 years.
When you bring a puppy home it is just a baby. There are many lessons it has to learn and your patience will be required.
The adult Australian Labradoodle needs exercise and some type of work. These wonderful canines have been developed for service work. They are perfectly suited for Canine Therapy and have served in hospitals, schools and nursing homes. We do encourage all new families of our puppies to share there Australian Labradoodle is some way so that it may fufill the purpose for which it was bred.
The Australian Labradoodle also can enjoy obedience training and agility. A good run in the park and daily walks are a must. No matter what the size of the doodle they are active canines and need to get out and about.
Before adopting a Australian Labradoodle know that it will be a combined effort between man and doodle. You will need to develop a partnership with your doodle. We guarantee you and your doodle will benefit greatly from the effort.
