Hope Woods was founded by Stephen & Theresa Urban in the fall of 2003. Our goal is to form a partnership with the wonderful Australian Labradoodle and the abilities of some very special young adults. These special young adults have had their lives challenged in very unique ways but maintain very special abilities that benefit the rearing and breeding of labradoodle puppies.
The exceptional labradoodle has the unique intuitive temperament to compliment these unique abilities. This partnership produces achievement for both the labradoodle and challenged young adults. Hope Woods Labradoodles incorporates the talents and compensates for the deficits of these very special people. Hope Woods in partnership with the Alpha School provides a ROMPS program (Reaching Out Making Partners ) for the Alpha Students. The Australian Service dog is helping these student develop social skills and connect in ways that were not thought possible. Hope Woods has also become a job training site for the transitional students of the Alpha School. The Alpha students come once a week to learn to work in our breeding and training center. They quickly learn that it takes a lot of dedicated hard work to breed and care for our labradoodles.
Hope Woods has successfully spent the last 4 years living with and raising labradoodles from puppies and learning the joys and difficult world of breeding. Our breeding program is finally under way thanks to the generous support from Rutland Manor Breeding and Research Center along with Tegan Park in Australia. Both centers have offered encouragement and support to us in our goals.
